• Totals And Bad College Teams In Basketball

In the world of college basketball betting, because there are so many teams in Division One, handicappers have plenty of games to choose from before making their wagers. Since there are plenty of teams, a lot of sharp handicappers, will use bookie software data, to wager upon the totals of games. In the early part of the season, you can make a ton of money off of, smaller conferences, because they harbor some of the poorest programs in the country. Today we’ll be looking at the totals and bad college teams.

When it comes to handicapping any basketball game, the first thing you’ll quickly realize, is that the first 43 minutes of a game do not really matter, as the game can change numerous times in the final five minutes. Meaning to say, when it comes to two bad teams facing one another, the total may be set really low, such as 130 O/U. For the most part, because the perception in basketball, is that no two teams can be bad enough to go under such a low total, every NBA handicapper and their uncle, will take the over in the game. Yet, as we’ve seen time and time again, some schools are literally bad enough, to go under the total.

Simply put, when two bad basketball teams face off, you can always guarantee that the total will go under the number. Why? Because, the reason a bad basketball team is bad, is because they can’t score. Ultimately, while defense does matter in basketball, when it comes to the total line, all we care about, is the offense for each team. There is a huge difference between a team losing because of the opposing team’s defense, and the team losing because they can’t hang onto the ball. The next time you handicap bad basketball teams for totals, look at where their offenses rank.
